Pure Concept Store

Cool T-shirts & Trend Magazines

As Kiev becomes more hip, there’s been a boom in concept stores seling supacool T-shirts, bags, magazines, and other hipster toys associated with London’s Camden market. The minimalistic vault-like Pure Shop on a quiet street behind the Radisson Hotel was one of the first to herald the explosion, opening last year. Tanya & Victor, the couple who started the shop, travel widely in Europe, especially London, and have turned their shop into a platform for young British designers, mainly T-shirts, shorts, and other accessories. They also sell the works of local Ukrainian & Russian T-shirters like Syndicate and Blok. The bold, funky clothes are hung on big hooks as in a meat factory, making the place look like a basement bar in Williamsburg. In addition, they also sell cool international zines like Citizen K, Fantastic Man, Pop—and our very own B.East—that are impossible to find elsewhere in Kiev. The shop also has a small vinyl store managed by the ever-insane DJ Mavr. If you’re looking for a slice of Berlin in Kiev, go no further than this spot.   Reitarskaya 21/13. www.pure.kiev.ua Open: 11 am - 8 pm daily.
